The literacy tool we use is a skills building tool for English word mastery. We teach children an Innovational Way to learn and understand.


Our program embraces the bottom-up approach and involves observation, thinking, and production in both speech and writing. This learning process engages the learner in discriminating, evaluating and making choices based off of their own knowledge. By this method and program, learners develop awareness of their learning behaviors, build skills, and develop their own thinking strategies.


This literacy process is important because as they take in information and experience ideas that belong to others, they must be able to process the language and the meaning behind the language. They must also develop critical thinking skills that enable them to expand on what they learn. 


To help our clients develop this degree of literacy, we begin with foundational literacy skills and work our way to the top, where critical thinking advances.

OUR VISION

   We provide a learning experience for children that encourages their entrepreneurial spirit. Our program supports children of all ages in their literacy and language development. We support schools and organizations working with children by helping children in other programs develop the underlying skills they need to be better readers and writers in any course work that requires reading and writing.


   We believe that children grow into a path that is in harmony with their personality and needs. And, when they achieve balance in learning, by developing skills they become aware of themselves as learners. As balanced and sensible individuals, they make the right choices for their futures. They make choices in harmony with whom they are becoming.


   We believe in learning without bias; that each child needs to follow his and her own path. That means that children should learn in every discipline with a broad view of all areas of life. We believe in a balance of science, math, humanities, business and technology, so we provide literacy skills training for children to meet their own reading and writing needs.

OUR HISTORY.

We've been around for a long time. Many of our earlier students have finished graduate programs in university and are deep into their careers and raising families of their own. Their children come to us for help now. Yet in all the years we have provided services to clients, our quality has not diminished. As always we continue to meet students learning needs. 


   We began consulting in Taichung, in the early '80s. It was then that we encountered young ESL students whose learning needs went unmet. So, we set out to do something about it, and in the process of finding a solution to Second Language learning needs, we discovered a way to assist learners who had fallen into learning gaps.


   We then moved to Vancouver, B.C. and spent ten years with Taiwan immigrants in Canada at our learning-research center called PB5. During that time, we worked with children in three periods of learning, primary or elementary school, middle school, and high school. Our goal was to help them transition by developing English style thinking skills so they could integrate into English first language classrooms. As student after student abandoned ESL for the mainstream classroom, we knew we were doing the right thing for our students.  Some students who took our transition program before applying to public and private schools did not enter Canadian ESL programs. They didn't need them.


   Ten years later we moved back to Taiwan to provided services to children who were entering Taiwan International schools or preparing to move to English speaking Western countries.  We are permanently and happily situated in Taiwan because we work to make a difference for Taiwanese and Foreign students who want to succeed in English language arts.


   We are happy to be part of Taiwan's education reforms.
